The Zermatt Experience

Our final day in Zermatt began with SBB collecting our ski bags to transport back to our house in Binningen. Such a great service and makes the travel much simpler and more fun.

The day was gorgeous with bright blue skies and very clear views of the Matterhorn and surrounding mountains. Everyone would loved to have had one more day playing on the mountain.

Once the baggage logistics were sorted out we had a quick trip to the hotel breakfast as Ryan and especially Hayley was tired, crabby and hungry.

The view from our hotel breakfast room looks up the mountain where we could kind of make out the ski run we come down on when we ski all the way back to Zermatt finishing at the Cervo boutique hotel. I marked its approximate location on the photo below. The left side of the marked line in the trees is the Champagne bar we frequented once or twice.

Once the kids had their fill of bacon we moved to exploring some more of the town grabbing a souvenir or two along the way.

Eventually we hit the Brasserie Lusi and bar at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof in small platz where we could sit and enjoy the sun with a beverage and some nibbles.

Hayley was very tired from her snowboarding and skiing and was difficult to please in any way and challenged everyone on everything.

Bye-bye Zermatt, you have been great, looking forward to seeing you again in the not too distant future. When in the summer we hope to have a few days to hike and play before school restarts.
