Saturday morning can often mean that Andi and I have some extra time to fit in a run before we begin the main activities for the day. Today was no exception and it was beautifully sunny without being too hot.
The route chosen was to head out through the woods behind Binningen and down the hill towards Allschwil another suburb close to Basel. From there we followed the bike path back towards Basel Zoo. At this point, we followed the tram route passed Andi's office to the Rhein river at Wettsteinbrücke. We took at right along the river where we could see the Roche tower Bau 1. Incredibly in my photo I managed to get it obscured by a tree!
Roche metal tree grove! Roche tower is on the right side obscured by the real tree.
We crossed over the Rhein by the Museum Tinguely and took a left back to central Basel completing the run by the 3 kings bridge and hotel Krafft.
From the finishing point of the run we walk back over a bridge by the 3 kings hotel to schifflände
and on to Marktplatz. At schiffländ we came across one of the old-time trams still in use, mostly for some special occasions.
MarktPlatz market day
Here is came across a few Roche employees with their families.
We grabbed a cappuccino and latte macchiato!
There were lots of stalls selling some beautiful flowers. So we bought some to take back home.
