Joining a Cartell

We ended another busy work week with dinner out as a reward. Andi had a recommendation to try out a new Mexican food restaurant. Since Mexican food in Europe is incomparable to the California version we jumped at the opportunity as the recommendation claimed a good authenticity and quality.

On arrival we like to see a restaurant with a good sense of humor.

If you are in the area please do go and visit.

We sat outside since it was a nice evening and the tables were available without reservation.

The kids were very happy with the chips and salsa. Well the chips at least. Ryan does try the salsa if it isn't too spicy.

Drinks came and were different and fun!

Raspberry and dark chocolate, how can you go wrong?

The hors d'oeuvres arrived with guacamole which did not last long.

Chips and guacamole and they nicely matched the beer I was consuming! That happened to be a good local brew from Allschwil

At this point we moved on to the main course of quesadilla or enchilada or burrito! All were really good. Our return is pretty much guaranteed.

We got to watch toddlers play in the street dodging oncoming cars without too much parental oversight. It is so different from the US. No helicopter parenting here...

It encouraged our consumption of the booze though.

Our tram return trip!

Rear facing on the tram

We headed to the rear of the tram to watch city as we headed out.

It was a fun dinner. Nice to have Mexican food as an option once more.
