Last Friday Ryan had a school outing which he was not sick for and could attend for the whole project. The previous one was a school ski week at resort in the alps which lasted half a day. The teachers then called his parents who had to retrieve before he infected other kids with the virus and resulting fever. Joy!
So, it was exciting to be healthy and have some interesting adventure all in the same day.
This school trip was to visit the Vitra Design museum just over the border in Deutschland. Note, how well my deutsche Schriftsprache is coming along. The museum is all about design and its museum building is architected by Frank Gehry.
Myself and the kids had passed by it and enjoyed the outdoor helical slide when we first visited Basel about 3 years earlier when Andi had her 6 week sabbatical. She worked that week so could not join us for that event.
On this occasion, Ryan had fun being his most creative self and came away with a lamp which was the ultimate goal of the day. He had it mounted on a home made table too. The most difficult part of the whole exercise was to get it home in the rain without incurring any damage.
Here he is showing off his new piece of designed furniture.
Of course the observant reader will have noticed a lack of led bulb!
Well done Ryan, great job!
