Uncle Phil now has a lot to answer for!
We did a flying visit one weekend to catch Uncle Phil with the cousins and Mandy and her adult kids too. Laura was about to head off to college so it was fun to see her just before taking off. In fact, given how short the trip was, literally two days, it was amazing that we saw everyone except for Leah! Oh well, Leah, I am sure you were hard at work for your internship! Really!
We arrived quite late on the Friday night due to school activities, Andi's work schedule and shenanigans and my own work demands.
The late arrival meant the long day and very tired but excited kids.
As a treat for the boys Uncle Phil had booked two driving courses for Ryan and Luke at the Mercedez Benz world each on two different courses, since Luke is almost 3 years older, and Ryan was just tall enough to qualify by reaching the pedals! Unfortunately, Hayley just wait a few more years until she is tall enough, which I am sure will not be too long.
Mercedez Benz World:
An historic place situated at Brooklands race track which is now over 100 years old, it is a museum and driving school and experience all combined. It was certainly fun and not at all daunting for some little man who was not shy in enlightening people about his golf cart driving skills and experience.
The preamble:
Meeting the instructor who didn't speak any German, but his English was very good!
Next up, getting familiar with the car!
On to the driving with me (Steve as a passenger in the back seat).
Andi made reservations for her test run
And Hayley being aided through with a beverage.
Here are some photos of the museum exhibition cars from years past. They include the every day to the formula one.
Sunday was BBQ day with hot-tub party thrown in. Hayley's favorite part of the weekend.
And all of us at the end of an all too brief but excellent weekend
