During the summer months are some outdoor events that are well worth exploring. One of those is the outdoor Allianz Cinema event is located right on the idyllic Cathedral Square (Münsterplatz) in Basel. The setting is stunning and the scale of the movie screen is nothing short of amazing. To complete the night there are food stalls and bar with delicious food and summery drinks for all the family.
We arrived early for a pre-movie dinner and grab seats which are allocated on a first come basis.
Andi tried a London Mule and I had a local beer! Dinner was a fun mix: from the CodFather fish and chips for Hayley, Teriyaki chicken for Ryan with a vegetarian version of sushi, from the local MarktHalle a charcuterie plate for Andi and seafood version for Steve.
After we quaffed and ate we took are seats and prepared for the show.
The movie for the night was Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle!
I have to say it was not my first choice or Andi's for that matter. However, we found it far better than we anticipated especially given the intermittent comments and constant laughing from Ryan and Hayley.
Once over it was back to the tram for our ride home. No driving, Lyft or Uber required! Awesome!
