Run, Swim and Hike

Sunday became a triathlon day. It was going to be a very warm day once more, so an early morning run was essential. A 7 mile run into Basel and a loop by the side of the river was some work and a sense of achievement. Andi decided to head through the main part of town on her run and discovered lots of Saturday revelers still making their way home.

After the run and Ryan eventually rising out of his jet-lag we headed over the waterslide park just outside of Basel in a town called Pratteln. Check it out

Both Ryan and I received some whiplash on the steepest of the waterslides as the curve at the base was quite sharp.

Ryan made a buddy to hang out with and took off on the indoor and outdoor slides. Hayley joined some of the creative play.

Later in the day as the temperature cooled slightly we explored some of the local area from our apartment. On walks with Pepper and I had stumbled across some green space and stables with horses which invited further exploration.

Horse stables

We passed the stables and headed down a narrow road to discover a trail and farm

A long the trail every hundred yards or so there were activities to work on your fitness and core strength. Not known for shunning challenges we tried each one.

Also we discovered a tower to look at the tree tops and across the meadows. Pepper was not too thrilled about the heights but took part anyway.

Final walk of the day for Pepper we found Shawn the sheep!
