You get the ikea?

The Swiss allocate Sunday as a rest day and so generally Saturday is an errand day.

For the Goddard abode a primary errand was to acquire some pieces of furniture that we had planned to replace anyway. Those were older items which we sold/gave away so we did not have to ship or store them. For these, we made our first foray to the local Ikea store just outside Basel. Additionally, this made for a good excuse to start using the company car and learning to drive on the Swiss roads rigidly following their highway code.

Of course, within a quarter of a mile from the start of this journey we were very closely, almost tailgated some might say, by a police car! As luck would have it, we lost them by taking an incorrect turn on our navigated route. Phew! (Note, it is almost impossible to beat how fast I received a driving ticket from starting out from Martin's apartment in Paris. That was an illegal left turn out of his apartment block parking. Literally as soon as I was on the road! Martin was thrilled to receive that one in the post.)

Ikea was not crazy like we thought it would be. That made it fun and interesting to take time to look at our options. Google translate was permanently in use which saved us from asking lots of questions.

We did locate some useful items like an office desk and chair, a dining table and seating, a wine rack and some small items like a plant!

I think we should name the plant Robert!
